Three-phased Approach for Hospital Construction

The refurbishment of the hospital will happen in three phases.

The first phase is the construction of a new five-level north wing ward block and a new two-level podium block. The first stage of phase one has begun and will be completed in late 2006. It consists of medical and surgical wards, a new theatre suite and outpatient services. The second stage involves the construction of maternity wards and services for older people, which will be completed in 2007.

The second phase involves the refurbishment of the existing west wing ward block.

Phase three is the refurbishment and extension of the existing east wing ward block. This includes the establishment of a new CCU and ICU, upgrading the imaging department and a new extension to the emergency department.
