Carparking changes

02/06/05

Towards the end of this month Tauranga Hospital will close a section of a carpark on the main campus. This carpark is outside the main entry to the hospital. It is being closed so construction of the new hospital can begin.

Around the same time, a new carpark will open in Clarke St. This will provide free carparking for patients, public and hospital staff. The hospital is strongly urging people to use this new carpark. It will be a lot easier than trying to find a park on the main hospital campus. The completion of the new Clarke St carpark will depend on a number of factors, such as the weather.

We will keep you up-to-date through advertisements in the Bay of Plenty Times and public service announcements on Classic Hits 95 BOP FM, Newstalk ZB, Easy Listening i99, Viva and Coast.

The lift that will link the new carpark to the main campus will be installed after the carpark opens. Options for transporting people from the carpark to the main hospital campus are currently being considered.
