Project LEO

Welcome to Project LEO

Project LEO is the name given to the construction and refurbishment programme at Tauranga Hospital, which is estimated to cost between $135 -$138 million.  It is scheduled for completion in 2009.

LEO is an acronym for Leading Edge Organisation, which reflects the Bay of Plenty District Health Board’s desire to create a health care system that reflects best practice.

The refurbishment of the existing hospital and the construction of new buildings will take place in three phases.  The first phase of the construction programme is underway.  A number of enabling projects have been completed.

Throughout the programme there will be changes that will affect the public.  This website will provide details on these changes and up-to-date information on the building process.
